Healthcare, physical & mental

What are our 4 biggest challenges?

Service integration, service quality, Internet connected medical device security and publicly sustainable pharmaceutical pricing.

Our major problems in the healthcare system I see are quality of care, rising expenditures, shortages and Inefficiencies.

Paul is a Republican. Republicans believe the market economy is driven by competition and free will. Healthcare price transparency reform is key to reasonable pricing: make sure consumers have easy access to actual costs, and incentivize them to shop around.

Protecting direct health care arrangements: allow primary and specialty providers to create direct financial arrangements with patients without having to use an insurance middleman.

Health care jobs are projected to increase, early intervention, and education would all save state dollars. Specifically we should focus on child abuse prevention, the mental health system, and substance misuse.

Paul firmly believes that Telehealth is a viable way to support and expand healthcare to everyone. Telehealth across state lines: Allowing providers with licenses in good standing in other states to provide basic telehealth to Alaskans. We will need to look at a permeant expansion of Telehealth licensing in Alaska.

“I will support efforts to better our health care system in Alaska, to be more efficient and tackle the biggest challenges.”
